I'm still playing with the text on this T-shirt design. Here I've ditched the ransom note-like letters and simplified it. Classy. Print block has been given its final touch up (not yet shown). Nooj.

Yonder Wizard War
The first actual naptime work I've done in some time. 5"x6". Ink, watercolor, markers, photoshop tweeking. Neat-o. Gimme a book to illustrate already.

Humpday hoobajoobs.
Top: sculpture designs that, for now, live only on paper. Above: This is clearly a Dr. Seuss picture, and not mine. And I do wonder, how long is the tail of a Zong? Long enough to stretch back to his Master? I do wonder....

Weekend Dump: Naptime Work of Yestertime
Homebirth book is for sale if anyone wants a copy. $3.00. Narrative about the birth, imprisonment, and reclamation of a strange world. Drawings and Prints.
Below are two "floors" of a house print I did for my sister in law and her new hubby. Congrats dudes. Top one is their dog and other weird stuff, bottom one is the entire Yagla family at dinner, significant others included. Baaaaybaaaaayyy....
Coupla Naptimes Worth
This is the final third of an epic chase/attack scene of the protagonist in the upcoming book Current Science Illustrated v.3 by myself and Phil Ochs. Been working on the larger print (totaling 3 "pages" and 7 "panels") since before Christmas and decided to finish it as a naptime project. Took about 3 naps to finish cutting. Printed it during a 4th. Will always remind of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Something about the panel when General Psy is being dragged up the temple stairs.

Personal Assessment Criteria
Personal assessment criteria are as follows:
Length of Nap: 30 min.
Time spent on task: 15 min.
Plan from beginning: None.
Type of drawing: Doodle
Not much to say about the quality of the work as it was a short, mindless exercise. I was glad the scanning and cropping process was so easy. That'll help me keep up with these.

Welcome to Yesterday's Future
This blog is an experiment in accountability. As a full-time dad of an 11 month-old, it's hard to find time for prolonged periods of focused art-making, extended creative spells, or even time for skill building exercises. It is my hope that with this blog available to viewers, I will be encouraged to update it with what artwork I have the time to make. My parameters: when the kid falls asleep, I start working. When he wakes up, I post what I did. Thanks for looking!
